About Joanne
Jo grew up in Beckenham quite close to Addington Palace the venue for the wedding & reception. After three fun filled years at Warwick University (well it was all fun except for the studying maths part), Jo started a career as a management consultant working throughout Europe from Barcelona to Basingstoke. It was on a memorable engagement in Holland that she met David.

About David
David grew up in Brentwood, Essex, also famous for being home to Steve Davis, Douglas Adams and Frank Bruno, before venturing up north for three years at Durham University. It was in Durham that David discovered the joys of watching ice hockey, and he can still be found cheering on the Romford Raiders most Sundays during the season. David works as a management consultant, a job that has allowed him to travel to exotic locations such as Solihull, Basingstoke and Leeds.

How they met
David and Jo met on a project in Holland. It was obvious right from the start that this was going to lead to something special, as the first words Jo said to David were 'Come back next week, I'm too busy to talk to you now'. Not to be deterred, David did just that, and with the help of the rest of the project team, who often left David and Jo alone to enjoy their favoured cuisine at the local steakhouse in the evenings, the relationship soon grew into something special.

The proposal
Beautiful Venice was the backdrop for the proposal. A serenading gondolier provided the stage (although this made it slightly too dangerous to go down on one knee to ask the question - the thought of losing balance and seeing the ring disappear into the murky depths of the canal outweighed the necessity for tradition!). And the Bridge of Sighs completed the setting. As we approached the bridge I took out the carefully concealed ring and popped the question. You can see from the fact that we are both smiling in the photo above, taken just after the event, that the answer was 'Yes'.
